AHMAD FADZLEE RASHID
Fadzlee began his career at Tricubes Computers Sdn Bhd as an Electronics Engineer where he played a vital role in the product development process of smartcard devices.
In 2005, he made a significant career move by joining a well-established IP firm in Malaysia which paved the way to building his strong industry background. During his tenure there, he was also involved in patent drafting, patent prosecution and providing technical advice on patent infringement.
Fadzlee then joined MIMOS Bhd in 2007 where he oversaw the creation and management of the company’s IP portfolio, providing constructive advice on IP issues and anticipating risks with regards to the use of Third Party’s IP and Open Source Software. He also strategized the IP protection for commercialization projects. In addition, he was also involved in enhancing the internal IP processes and fine-tuning guidelines to align with the company’s R&D process. He conducted numerous IP Clinics and Invention Mining Sessions with the researchers to identify the core invention for patent protection and to increase IP competency and knowledge.
He eventually founded IPVOLUSI Sdn Bhd in 2010 to take advantage of the wealth of experience amassed, and help protect and encourage the growth of creativity and innovation in Malaysia. He has been engaged by various companies, universities and research institutions on various IP matters including IP prosecution, IP valuation, etc.
In 2014, he has been certified as a Local IP Valuer after having completed and passed the examination for Intellectual Property Valuation Training organised by Intellectual Property Corporation (MyIPO) and World Trade Institute (WTI), University of Berne, Switzerland. He co-authored the Intangible Asset Valuation Guidance Notes for the Royal Institution of Surveyors Malaysia (RISM) in 2017.
